PASTORAL CARE FOR THE SICK

PASTORAL CARE FOR THE SICK

When the church cares for the sick, it serves Christ himself in the suffering members of his Mystical Body. The Church shows this solicitude by visiting those in poor health, raising them up through the sacrament of anointing, and by nourishing them with the Eucharist during their illness.
BAPTISM

BAPTISM

Baptism serves as the first sacrament one receives when entering the Catholic Faith. It is a sacrament of initiation (which you can only receive one time), meaning once you received it, you officially enter into the body of Christ, the Catholic Church.
SACRAMENT OF HEALING

SACRAMENT OF HEALING

There are two sacraments of healing in Catholic sacramental life, the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick. The goal of each sacramental rite is to bring God's healing to the sick through Jesus the Christ and in the power of the Holy Spirit.
SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE

SACRAMENT OF MARRIAGE

The Sacrament of Marriage is a covenantal union in the image of the covenants between God and his people with Abraham and later with Moses at Mt. Sinai. This divine covenant can never be broken. In this way, marriage is a union that bonds spouses together during their entire lifetime.
FUNERAL

FUNERAL

The Catholic Rites are comprised of three separate and vital parts. The Vigil, Funeral Mass and the Committal. Through these sacred and solemn Catholic Rites, the family and friends of the deceased are reminded of the companionship and support of Christ and all believers.
RECOLLECTIONS AND FORMATION

RECOLLECTIONS AND FORMATION

Recollection, as understood in respect to the spiritual life, means attention to the presence of God in the soul. It includes the withdrawal of the mind from external and earthly affairs in order to attend to God and Divine things. It is the same as interior solitude in which the soul is alone with God.
